Headteacher's Welcome

It is my privilege to welcome you to Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi's website.
Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi is a school where, with the help of a highly qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff, we consistently transform the lives of the young people.
Collectively we believe the importance of every student counts and we have worked on developing a curriculum which develops the interests of a broad range of ability, skills and talents. Our aim is to enthuse our students through innovative teaching so that they enjoy learning and that they are constantly challenged to achieve their potential.
Learning is a social activity and that is why we foster respect for themselves and others, encouraging co-operation and collaboration. We aim to develop a future generation who take pride in themselves to flourish and use their talents and skills for their own benefit and that of the community in which they live. We aspire to enable pupils to take responsibility in their own personal development through the style of learning they experience and the excellent guidance they receive from our pastoral team.
Our communication with parents and guardians is regular and pupils receive weekly feedback through ClassCharts on achievement. Our Progress Managers keep a constant eye on potential slippage or a change in attitude to learning and communicate with home regularly. Quality feedback is considered crucial in our approach to achieving success and our staff constantly refine their practice to provide students with the most relevant and helpful feedback to support this.

We are proud of the many fantastic student academic, artistic and sporting achievements. Many of our students gain entry into the top universities in the country or gain prestigious apprenticeships in the UK and overseas and go on to enjoy successful careers in every walk of life.
A wide range of academic and extra-curricular provision encourages bilingual engagement and the development of our pupil's cultural awareness and social identity. Whilst good behaviour is the norm, we recognise it’s also important to have fun and we believe we do this well.
Should you require further information or if you wish to arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school. We can always provide you with a tour of the school and meet some of our students so you can talk to them about their experiences.
Truly successful education is a partnership between school, pupils, parents and our community. If our school becomes your choice, we look forward to working closely with you.
