The Pastoral Support Officers are both non teaching members of staff, they are the first point of contact for parents should they have any concerns or queries. If they themselves cannot help they will signpost parents to the relevant members of staff that can. They also work with external agencies and support services and are able to refer families or pupils for further support should they agree and require.
The pastoral support officers provide day to day support with pupil issues, providing emotional and practical support as appropriate for pupils and their parents where relevant and referring more serious incidents to the Progress Manager and Assistant Headteacher. They log interactions with pupils and take accurate witness statements in an investigation and summarise findings. They communicate poor patterns of attendance and punctuality with parents, pupils, progress manager and refer to Inclusion Officer if persistent.
